As we continue to expand our array of state-of-the-art precision fabrication equipment, the need for quality operators grows as well. We are seeking experienced operators for our band saws, lathes, mills, benders, plasma tables, plate processors, copers, shot blasters and more. Qualified Machine Operators are able to safely utilize material handling equipment, keep all work areas clean and in compliance with safety regulations, and maintain HME’s high Quality Assurance practices.
Full Position Description
Our Ironworkers must pass an in-house weld certification test, able to work at heights, lift up to 100 pounds and safely operate and work around cranes, aerial lifts and other construction equipment. A few of our requirements include 2 or more years of experience, comprehensive knowledge of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and crane signals/rigging practices.

Once steel fabrication is complete, it’s up to our dependable long-haul drivers to get the materials safely delivered to our jobsites across the nation. Requirements for trucking positions include; the ability to operate a telehandler forklift, possess a valid Class A CDL, and pass a DOT physical, drug screening and driving evaluation. You must also be 21 years of age or older.
Our Project Managers assist in the management of structural steel fabrication and erection projects. Work with customers, production personnel, vendors, and detailers. This fast-track position requires a flexible team player with time management skills and the ability to multitask while managing structural and miscellaneous steel projects nationwide. We’re looking for applicants with Construction Science or Engineering degrees and 5 or more years of experience in the construction industry.
Once the client requests a bid, our Estimators generate price quotes for labor, material and shipping costs for that project, obtains bids from suppliers and subcontractors, and maintains daily communication with project managers. We’re looking for applicants with Construction Science or Engineering degrees and 2 or more years of experience in the construction industry.
Our designers assist in the engineering, designing and drafting aspects of steel fabrication, including creating three-dimensional drawings, preparing engineered calculations, assisting in providing checks to ensure compliance with contract documents and maintaining communications with Project Managers and Structural Modelers/Detailers. We’re looking for applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar qualifications, current knowledge of building codes and regulations, and experience with AutoCAD or Tekla is preferred.
Our detailers assist in the designing and drafting aspects of fabrication for high-quality, economically competitive products. This position focuses on creating three-dimensional drawings, assisting in providing checks to enure compliance with contract documents and maintaining communications with Project Managers.
HME, Inc. partnered with Archer Western to supply 250 Tons of Structural & Misc. Steel for the Raw Water Pump Station that will send water 35 miles from its location at Bois d’Arc Lake to the WTP located just outside of Leonard, TX. Along with its all Galvanized Structural Steel Framing, HME, Inc. supplied all the stairs, walkways, handrail, & grating for accessibility throughout this structure.
The Fellowship Bible Church project is a multi-story 70,000 square foot facility with a unique combination of modern finishes and exposed structure. With its efficient blend of open space and classrooms, the facility makes it possible to host worship, conferences and concerts simultaneously. Coal Creek Construction was the general contractor for the project.
The Coorstek Center for Applied Science and Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines project is a 95,000 square foot facility that provides the necessary spaces for faculty, students and industry experts for research in science and engineering. The general contractor for this project was FCI Constructors, Inc.
