HME Erector Training Facility

Our new HME Erector Training Facility provides training to entry level workers through advanced level team members that is focused on safe, efficient, and effective steel erection methods. This training program will provide HME’s customers with safe, capable, and productive team members the very first day on the project. The program is at the core of HME’s commitment to build a superior, well-trained erection team to serve our customers.

  • A 2 week classroom training session includes OSHA 10 certification, OSHA Subpart R, AISC Code of Standard Practice, Building Codes, Contract Documents, Erection and Fabrication Drawings, Bluebeam software, Crane safety and signaling, rigging training, post installed anchoring, bolting types and conditions (RCSC), anchor bolt checks, and equipment operation.

  • A 2-3 week hands-on training session includes continuation and application of the classroom knowledge while planning and erecting a “practice” steel structure on HME property. This multi-story structure was developed by in-house engineers and detailers and provides exposure to a wide array of scenarios that steel erectors will encounter on a project - including varied safety considerations and precautions, connection types, bolting conditions, steel profiles, stairs, railings, finish conditions, and floor and roof types (including Vulcraft’s EcoSpan system).

HME team members who have excelled in our Erector Training Course will be some of the best-trained in the industry. They will bring efficiency, accountability, and safety to each job site. With this in mind, HME will be the only choice for fast-track erection projects nation-wide.
